In Spring he swore he’d pick her flowers
To make her smile each time she smelt them.
He swore they’d lie in fields of tall grass
And watch as the blossom grew on the trees.

In Summer he swore he’d sit with her in the
Warm evenings and they’d  watch the sunset.
He swore he’d tell her how stunning
She looked when the sun caressed her face.

In Autumn he swore he’d hold her hand
Whilst they walked in the golden landscape.
He swore they’d laugh and smile together
As they jumped through the fallen leaves.

In Winter he swore he’d hold her tight
And keep her safe when the storms strike.
He swore he’d keep her warm at night
Through the snow and the rain and the cold.

He swore all this for the rest of his life,
And he meant it.
